WWAY anchor Donna Gregory died on Tuesday after a battle with Stage 4 lung cancer.
Gregory was diagnosed in early April.
“Donna confronted her illness with grace and determination, undergoing immunotherapy and chemotherapy while remaining a beacon of hope and inspiration,” the Wilmington, N.C. ABC and CBS station wrote on its website. “Her death leaves a void that words alone cannot fill. At a later date, we will honor Donna’s remarkable life and career with a tribute befitting her legacy.”
Gregory started her career at WMBD in Peoria, Illinois.
