Norah O'Donnell Sets Final CBS Evening News Broadcast for Jan. 24

The third place newscast is undergoing a major overhaul in 2025

Norah O’Donnell‘s tenure as CBS Evening News anchor will end on Friday, Jan. 24.

The network made the internal announcement on Friday, noting that O’Donnell agreed to stay with the broadcast through the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump and the first week of his second presidential term.

Her departure comes as CBS Evening News prepares to undergo a major overhaul. The newscast will now be overseen by 60 Minutes executive producer Bill Owens and anchored by the triumvirate of John Dickerson and Maurice DuBois in New York, and Margaret Brennan from Washington, D.C.

O’Donnell, who announced her departure in late July, is remaining with CBS News in an expanded role as a senior correspondent focusing on long-form reporting and interviews.
